Update

A correction from yesterdays post. I wrote yesterday that the 01 car of Regan Smith finished second. I noticed today that NASCAR disallowed his time and he actually finished eighteenth. That is just sad NASCAR.

Wrong winner

NASCAR, you are terrible at getting things right. You gave the victory to the wrong driver.

Tony Stewart forced Smith below the yellow line. Maybe you will get something right sometime NASCAR. No, wait, that will never happen.

Smith should have just wrecked Stewart like Vickers wrecked Jr. and Jimmie Johnson a few years ago. No, if he would have done that, NASCAR would have taken his victory away. It was a lose-lose situation for Smith. But congratulations to him on his second place finish.

And now on to another terrible move. Congratulations to Carl Edwards for taking out two of his teammates and other chasers. It was a good idea to stay out of trouble in the back all day. Then he had to go and cause the big one. My predictions were way off. (read previous entry for clarification.)

Now on to the championship standings.

Jimmie Johnson had the luckiest day of anyone. He is destined to win his third championship. He squeezed through all the wrecks, had trouble with his engine and still managed to get a top 10 finish.

Talladega

Alright, lets talk about the crap shoot that Talladega is. This is a race that could possibly take out every chaser in one wreck. I know this is one of the most exciting races in the chase, but it is also the most dangerous for the drivers in the chase because you can't just dodge the big one.

It is also a big race because the fans love Dale Jr. and he is great at this track. In fact, his sponsor decided to sponsor the race this year. That's right, its the Amp energy 500. They know that all the Jr. fans will be there and they are going to reach their target market. By target market I mean the 150,000 plus people there and the other how ever many million watching.

Who is going to win?
You always have to count on Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. They are a constant. This year you have to look at the two Roush drivers, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle, because they have the momentum. You also have to watch Jimmie Johnson because he is just that good every where.

Another question I am going to ask is who is going to cause the big one?
You have a lot of drivers who could cause this. If I was a casino I would make odds on this and let people bet. I am going to pick a few that I think may just do it. The first is Robby Gordon. He ruined McMurray's chance of winning a few weeks ago when Jamie had the best car. Another driver is Michael Waltrip. He is just getting worse and needs to focus on being a team owner and not a driver. And the one that I would put all of my money on, Sam Hornish Jr. this guy wreckes every week. Sometimes more than once in one race. He will definetly take everyone out. I think I am going to call my bookie. You should do the same. Who do you think will cause the big one?

long time gone

Well it has been a long time since I have updated (thanks hurricane for knocking out my T.V. for two weeks) and a lot of things have happened.

First of all, three races of the chase are over and Jimmie Johnson leads Carl Edwards by 10 points. These two drivers and Greg Biffle have been the dominant teams in the chase. But you have to hand it to Roush . They have been the dominant team so far in the chase.

I almost forgot. Lets talk about the most important and surprising event. Kyle Busch went from domination to crap in three races. He went from winning everything all season to twelfth place in the chase. Every race he has had some sort of mechanical problems with his engine. And boy do I love to see them interview him after the race. He is such a baby and answers the questions like an a-hole. Given, the media does ask stupid questions that just rub his misfortune in his face. Like, "how does it feel to have your season blow up in your face and know your not going to win the championship after being the best all year?" I would probably be mad too.

Another event that I didn't get to write about was that of the Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch incident at Bristol. I know it was a long time ago but I loved it and all the fans loved it. I wanted to see them fight. Kyle Busch would get beat up just like Jimmy Spencer beat up his brother. (I think that's who it was.)

If there is anything else that I missed and you want me to talk about just send me an email and I will write about it. If you have something to say or want to write about something in NASCAR, send me an e-mail and I will put it up. If it is suitable. We have standards here at Race day review.
