I missed you NASCAR

It has been two weeks since the Sprint Cup Series has been on the track and I have missed them, but Martinsville is a great track to come back to.

Today I am going to pick Denny Hamlin for the win. You are also going to have to watch out for the 24 and the 48. I think they will be very strong today but Hamlin will get the victory.

What do you think? Who is going to win?

Bristol winner is......

Today I am going to pick Carl Edwards, again. He won the fall race here last year and he is having a heck of a season. One thing you have to remember is that this is bristol, he may get wrecked on the first lap, you never know what is going to happen.
You also have to watch out for Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. Jr. may just get his first win with his new team. For my dodge pick, I think Kasey Kahne is going to be a front runner today.

Who do you think will win? You can leave it in the comments section. We like to hear from ya.

Enjoy the greatest race of the year, until they come back hear in the fall.

Big Bad Bristol

The Sprint Cup and the Nationwide Series are bringing the thunder to Big, Bad, Bristol Motor Speedway.
Bristol is an intense half-mile track with 24 to 30 degree banking in the turns and 5 degree banking on the straightaways.
Bristol is completely surrounded by the stands, which means the sounds, smells and vibrations of the cars have to run through the 160,000 screaming fans before it disperses into the hills surrounding the track.
This is why Bristol sells out every race. The fans love to come to the hills of Tennessee to eat, drink, party, enjoy the company of the other 160,000 camping fans and watch the beatin' and bangin' racing style Bristol has to offer.
I know this experience first hand, and you can't beat it. If you have never been to a race, I recommend this track to anyone. And if your not a fan, you will be after seeing a race at Bristol. Just be sure to take some hearing protection.

Kyle Busch wins, Stewart burns the rubber

Kyle Busch wins at Atlanta giving Toyota their first cup win.
Busch led the last 50 laps after California and Las Vegas winner Carl Edwards blew his engine while leading.
Even though Busch gave Toyota their first win, Stewart was the big story of the day.
After finishing second, Stewart got out of his car and just let loose on the tires that Goodyear designed for the track.
In an interview with Fox's Matt Yokam, Stewart said "This is the most pathetic racing tire I have ever been on in my professional career."
"Goodyear can't build a tire thats worth a crap, Stewart added."
Goodyear should be ashamed of the tire they brought to Atlanta Motor Speedway and that Firestone, Hoosier, or some other tire company could have done a better job of creating a tire that would have worked better, Stewart said.
This all started last week when they all had similar tire problems at Las Vegas. Stewart hit the wall last week after blowing a tire and had to be helped to the ambulance because of the hard hit.
Next week NASCAR goes short track racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. If you don't watch much racing, be sure to check out this race. You will be a fan after watching the beatin' and bangin' at Bristol.

Atlanta race winner

Today I am going to pick a driver who I have picked the past three weeks. Thats right, I am going to pick Carl Edwards. He has a great record at Atlanta and today he is going to show everyone that he doesn't have to cheat to win.

Some cars that will give Edwards a challenge is the 24 of Jeff Gordon and the 88 of Dale Jr. It might just be a Hendrick day. You also have to watch out for Greg Biffle. He could be the sleeper for this race.

Leave who you think is going to win in the comments section. I would like to hear everyones opinions. Have a great day and enjoy the race.

Carl Edwards gets floored by NASCAR

NASCAR handed down its penalties to the 99 team of Carl Edwards for failing post race inspection after winning last weeks race in Las Vegas.

After the race NASCAR found the oil reservoir cover was off, giving him an aerodynamic advantage.

According to NASCAR.com, the rule that the 99 team violated says anything that permits air to travel from one area of the interior of the car to another will not be permitted.

NASCAR hit Edwards team with the most severe penalties since Michael Waltrip got caught using an unapproved fuel in his car last year at Daytona. In fact, both teams were issued the same penalties.

Edwards was docked 100 driver points, owner Jack Roush was docked 100 owner points, and Bob Osborne was fined $100,000 and suspended for six races and placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2008.

The 99 team is not the first team to be cited for this infraction.

A number of teams in the Nationwide series were cited for the same infractions.

Kyle Busch wins Las Vegas

Ok, today I am going to pick Kyle Busch for the win. If he can stay out of trouble I think he has a great chance to win. I am not a big fan of Busch but he is a darn good driver.

Because Busch is a risky pick I am also going to pick another driver to watch, ok three. I think you have to watch out for Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, and Kasey Kayne. All of these drivers have a good enough cars to win, if they dont wreck.

You never know, if the race goes anything like the Nationwide race last night we might have 20 cautions and everyone a lap down.
